Okay - so I haven't posted anything for forever. And after complaining about others who sit on blog names and never post! I shall duly chastise myself and endeavour to post on a more regular basis.

On that note I am digging up some old limericks and republishing them. I hope to add some new ones at regular intervals, but that requires the creative juices to start flowing. We'll see how that goes.

Meantime, here's an oldie but a goodie concerning the hullabaloo surrounding Dan Brown's book daring to write something inventive and irreverent about the Christian religion.

Soliloquy of Dan Brown.

DaVinci and God wrote a code,
The Cath-olic church it did goad,
The Pope had hysterics,
And ordered his clerics,
To flusheth it down the commode.

(Comment on the controversy surrounding The DaVinci Code novel)

Incidentally, after reading this book I thought I'd give some of his other works a try. For those with similar thoughts, don't go there. I read one particular pile of dross named Digital Fortress which was one of the worst books I have experienced.

What do you think?

Pheckless Feckless

Why Pheckless? Well it embodies a sense of irony that I propose to record here. To write about things that are important to me and yet the rest of the world might consider trivial.

So am I feckless? In some ways yes, and in others no. I don't care for the trappings of success, for the envy of others, but I do care about my ability to express my individuality, in both word and deed. I shall post here on topics that are of moment to me, or oddly strike my fancy. Such topics are likely to cover religion, politics, sport, work, recreation, and IT. Some will likely be dull, but hopefully some will be stimulating.

So as an appetizer, today saw the end of the English Premier League Football season for 2007/2008. Tottenham Hotspur, who I have supported for at least thirty years ended the season on a losing note with an unimpressive 2 -0 loss to Liverpool. The season has produced some spectacular and exciting games, but this was not one of them. The rumour is that ther ewill be significant personnel changes before the new season starts in August. Eleventh place in the league if just not good enough for this club.

Do you follow the Premier League? If so, who do you support? Are you a fair-weather fan? What do you think next season holds in store?
